Rumor :: QB Chris Greisen Signs with the Tuskers
According to the Door County (Wisconsin) Daily News, the Florida Tuskers have found a quarterback. Most recently with the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League, Chris Greisen has reportedly signed on with the Tuskers.
Greisen is likely a pick by Offensive Coordinator Jay Gruden. Gruden’s former team, the Orlando Predators of the AFL, played in the same division as the Force, so Gruden had several chances to see Greisen play. Given Gruden’s history as a quarterbacks coach, it is safe to say he has a good eye for passing talent. After all, he managed to turn Brad Johnson into a Super Bowl winning quarterback.
Greisen’s career numbers in the AFL very good, especially given the field dimensions. Despite the small confines, Greisen managed a career completion percentage of 70.9 percent. In just two years as a starter, Greisen managed 217 touchdowns and only 29 interceptions, passing for just under 10,000 yards. Greisen has never been able to catch on in the NFL, but if he can keep up that kind of accuracy, he would a very good addition to the Tuskers.
The Daily News article also mentions former Green Bay Packer back-up Craig Nall as a possible signing for the Tuskers, leading to an open quarterback competition. Given Commissioner Huyghue’s comments about a Wild Card spot being reserved for quarterbacks, it is unlikely Greisen is being brought in to compete (assuming he is even the projected starter). Several quarterbacks will be cut from NFL training camps soon. The Tuskers would be jumping the gun if they anointed a starter before seeing what was available. Given the short length of the season, having more than two quarterbacks would be a waste of roster space. Putting two and two together, the Nall signing is about as unlikely as the Greisen signing is likely.
Keep in mind, this is still a rumor. The Tuskers have not made an official announcement regarding Greisen. Stay Tuned to Tusker House for updates.

Your welcome.
Sounds like this Greisen had some excellent days in the AFL. But with the quality NY and Vegas have, I have to imagine that the Tuskers will do better than this.
Even this Craig Nall has more higher level pro experience than Greisen.
Come on Tuskers, go get Brian Johnson from NY!
