Tuskers Sign WR Paris Warren, Trade Koren Robinson to Sentinels

September 20, 2009

I just got off the phone with Chris Hays over at the Orlando Sentinel.  He passed off some news from camp, since posted on the Sentinel site, about the Koren Robinson trade.  Robinson has been traded to the Sentinels for a player to be named later.  This move comes on the heels of WR Paris Warren signing with the Tuskers.

Warren most recently spent time with the New Orleans Saints in training camp.  He was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2005.  He last saw game action in the NFL in 2006.

Some may assume that this signals Robinson has lost a step and the Tuskers went with the better receiver.  My sources tell me that isn’t the case, and is more the result of the league stepping in and providing more parity at the various positions.  Whether it was a case of the Sentinels needing some help at the receiver position or the Tuskers simply having too much help there is a matter of opinion, but one of the two is the case.  Between Chas Gessner and Doug Gabriel, the Tuskers should be just fine.
