New Tuskers Head Coach to be Announced Tuesday

Tusker House may have been boarded up for a bit, but I’ve still be keeping tabs on the team and the UFL in general.  Sharing an office with some of the Tuskers’ staff tends to help too.  Still, I received a media advisory today that I found very interesting.  The Tuskers will be announcing their new head coach on Tuesday (February 9th) at a press conference in Orlando.  Guess who will be there?  I’ll actually be attending the press conference for a reason other than Tusker House, but that’s a different matter entirely.

Who the Tuskers have pegged for their head coach should be no surprise.  Bright House Sports reported recently that Jay Gruden, the current offensive coordinator for the Tuskers, is being promoted to replaced the departed Jim Haslett.  If this turns out to be wrong (my sources, including some very, very close to the situation, tell me it isn’t), it will be the shock of the year in Orlando sports.  Keep in mind, Bright House broke the Orlando Predators’ hiring of Pat O’Hara story as well.

Coverage of the press conference should be up either later Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
